What is Crossinology Brain Integration?
Crossinology Brain Integration Technique (BIT) is a unique, holistic, drug-free solution for learning difficulties and many other stressors in the brain. The technique combines principles of acupressure, applied kinesiology, and physiotherapy, to assess and address imbalances in the brain, especially in areas associated with learning.  It is known as a form of "neuropressure", and works within the vast movement of utilizing the brain's "neuroplastic" nature to create positive changes in the brain and our perception.
What does BIT address?
  • ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia
  • Other Learning Problems
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Concussion and TBI
  • Post-Stroke
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Concentration
  • Working Memory
  • Post Traumatic Stress/ Emotional Trauma
  • Balance and Coordination
  • Multi-tasking and Planning
  • Pre-Post Surgery
  • Speech Problems or Delay
  • Auditory Processing
  • and more!
Is BIT right for me?
  • Daydreaming
  • Short-Attention Span
  • Awkward Gait
  • Poor Balance/ Coordination
  • Poor Memory
  • Performance Anxiety
  • Poor at Test Taking
  • Over/under sensitive to touch
  • Poor Auditory Processing
  • Difficulty with Directions
  • Letter or Number Reversal
  • Poor Handwriting
  • Trouble remembering vocabulary or times tables
  • See the behavioral checklist, if you check off more than 3, then BIT may be right for you.
How does BIT work?
BIT is a "revolutionary stress management process" which focuses on "rewiring" neural networks through the principles of neuroplasticity.Everyday your brain is learning something new, or learning how to get to a piece of common information faster and quicker. Your brain's natural thirst for learning (regardless of a learning problem) can be manipulated into great growth through the Crossinology Technique.

Throughout the protocol, the practitioner scrubs the brain clean of fatigued or blocked neuropathways by either creating new ones, or stimulating the old by diffusing what made them weak in the first place (all gently though acupressure, kinesiology and physiotherapy techniques). The protocol is extremely thorough for all forms of learning, and since we learn over a lifetime, this protocol can work very well for adults as well.
Do I, or someone I love, have a learning problem?
The behavioral checklist provided by Crossinology helps identify whether or not you would be a good candidate for brain integration. Fill it out to see if it would be an ideal fit.

Did you check off 3 or more boxes? You're a great candidate.

Did you check off less than 3? Have a loved one review the checklist with you and see if they come up with any others. Sometimes our normal isn't what the world sees, and that outside perspective can be invaluable.
What scientifically proven areas and functions in the brain does BIT work?
  • Deep Level Switching
  • Corpus Callossum
  • Speech Centers (Broca’s area, Werneckies area, Broadman’s areas, etc.)
  • Limbic System
  • Visual System
  • Auditory System
  • Audio-Visual Integration
  • Vestibular System
  • Marching / Coordination
  • Coding
  • Alphabet and Writing
  • Math
  • Reading
  • Puzzles
  • Visuo-Spatial Function
  • Creativity and Gestalt Skill
  • Logic and Organizing
  • Negative Attitudes

How to get integrated:
People from age five and up are capable in completing the BIT protocol, a protocol averaging over
8-15 hours to complete (over a series of 1-3 hour sessions at a time). The protocol is designed to energetically scrub all areas of the brain clean associated with learning - speech centers, the limbic system, visual processing, auditory processing, balance, marching (development of the corpus callousum), auditory/visual short term memory, visuo-spatial function, verbal concept formation, spelling, reading, math, and defusing negative attitudes.

In the first one-hour session, the client is assessed in the following:
  • For certain brain integration markers in a 20 minute assessment that will tell the practitioner how long it will take to complete the protocol
  • For environmental factors affecting brain integration: candida overgrowth, hydration, allergies, and electromagnetic sensitivities.
  • Nutrition Requirements: Should candida overgrowth be assessed through muscle monitoring in your session, you will need to make the further investment in your integration by participating in the candida cleanse. Changes made in the BIT protocol will not be consistent, completely observed, or as profound, if there is candida shadowing over the balances. Learn more about candida's connection to learning problems on my blog.
In sessions to follow, the concentration is moving through the protocol designed by Crossinology. Once the protocol is complete, it's recommended to follow up 4-6 weeks after, and then have a yearly check-up at the very least. Practitioners can support you in further, unique ways, please talk to them about that individually.

What does a session look like?
The client lays down on a massage table in a relaxing room. Participation from the client is minimal while the practitioner uses muscle monitoring while using specific acupressure points that are associated with brain function, otherwise named as "neuropressure" points.  Sessions with a client can be as little as 1 hour, to as much as 3 hours in one day. For younger children, a half hour may be more appropriate.

General Guidelines
  • Do not drink alcohol or ingest illegal substances prior to treatment.
  • Eat before your treatment, as it may take several hours to complete. Bring some snacks for long sessions.
  • Drinking plenty of water is highly recommended before, during, and after treatments.
  • Small children may play with any non-electrical toys, be read to, or enjoy some music (not from any electronic devices such as smartphones or iPods) during treatment.
History of Crossinology Brain Integration Research, Development and Founding Acknowledgment
During the 1980s, a number of innovative practitioners combined their knowledge of how the brain learns with ancient Chinese medicine. Out of this body of work came the unimaginable; people with long-standing learning disabilities, head injuries and even strokes, all recovering in dramatic ways... In 1988, Susan McCrossin began studying the links between learning difficulties and acupressure. Subsequently, she developed her comprehensive system, known as Crossinology Brain Integration Technique (from Crossinology.com).

Susan holds Masters degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology, along with a Diploma in Applied Physiology from the International Institute in Arizona. Crossinology Brain Integration Technique is based on her work and research. Information related to Crossinology Brain Integration technique on this website and techniques used by Jackie are based on this work. More information about Crossinology Brain Integration Technique and the science behind it, can be found at www.crossinology.com
